Green, leafy and full of character — home of the Tap House, the Whisky Bar, the Gable and 170 years of getting together.
The Dapto Agricultural & Horticultural Society was formed on Sunday 8 November 1856 at the Illawarra Hotel in Dapto, and the first Dapto Show was held on 28 January 1857 at Brown's Flour Mill in Brownville. Today the Groundz is run by Dapto A&H Society Ltd — a non-profit keeping the showground in local hands.
Considered the beating heart of the Groundz Precinct, the Tap House is a vibrant indoor/outdoor space with a range of options available to both the public and those seeking private functions.
Nestled amongst green and leafy surrounds with shaded areas and landscaped gardens, the Tap House connects to the heritage of the site with a vibrant, rustic appeal.
Every shed on the showground has a past life — and a new one pouring beers, whisky and cocktails.
From markets on the green to live music every weekend — find out what's coming up across the precinct.
The Groundz is home to many clubs and businesses — and open ground for hire. We have links and information about each, from the Dapto Country Show to grounds hire for your next event.
